ReplyDeleteRemember, you are not writing just for your classmates. Your blog is open to the world. Therefore, anyone who finds it can read the postings. Tip: You might want to write your posts in Word beforehand so you can check spelling and grammar. I often do that with my discussion board posts also.
The instructions for your first blog entry indicate that it "should outline your goals for this course. What do you already know and what do you want to learn? Explain why you chose these goals? Be specific. Don't include ideas such as learn as much as you can or learn about the computer. These are too vague and don't allow you to judge whether you actually have met these goals." The advantage of having specific goals is that it is easier to create an action plan to meet those goals and you are better able to determine whether you have met those goals at the end of the course.
Think about it a little more and add an updated post.
Hi Teresa! Glad to meet another dinosaur! I granduated in 1980 so I know exactly how you feel lady. I've avoided technology in my past like the plague! I also graduate after this. Well, you seem to have a healthy optomistic view for our challenges ahead. Keep it up sister! God bless you and pray we all do well, learn a lot, and get A's!
ReplyDeleteHi Toni
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when you call us a dinosaur, I am still trying how to figure this blogging thing out. thank you for your comment and God bless you also
Hey, guys. It's not a matter of age; it's a matter of attitude. I graduated from high school in 1976--and I'm teaching this course. I didn't avoid technology although I'm not up on every new piece of technology that comes out.
ReplyDeleteIf we are to prepare our students for the 21st century, we have to move into the 21st century in our thinking and in our teaching methods. Technology is a major part of that paradigm shift. It is okay to admit that we don't know everything and be willing to learn from our students. Think how much that empowers them!
